happy belated vday

happy belated day of the valentine! so what’s been happening in the last 2 weeks?

it’s honestly been a bit of a grind, most work days seem like they’re never going to end and when they do, i just fall back into the mundanes of life: the grocery shopping, meal preps, gym & repeat. but if i had to highlight a couple of moments, these would be it:

a fourth consecutive cold and sunless week practically invites the spread of disease. pair that with me—a heliophile with a notoriously compromised immune system—and it’s a recipe for the flu. segue that into rescheduling our valentines plans & spending the past weekend at home making some sexy pizzas. mine is the pretty square one: a mozarella, pesto classic which may i humbly say could drive pizza express out of business. frank went with goat cheese, caramelised onions and mushrooms.

after succumbing to societal pressures and having nothing else to watch , i’ve joined the severance band wagon. i think we’re currently at season 1 episode 5 and i couldn’t tell you much about it even if i wanted to! there must be an art in producing a series of episodes that make no sense yet the people are hooked. if this was an audiobook, my adhd would’ve abandoned it at minute 5 … but you should give it a go!

last weekend: a korean lunch followed by an ikea trip to get some things we really needed and a couple of things we didn’t need at all – exhibit a: this fish eye mirror

don’t mind if i award myself the girlfriend of the year award because this is what you’d get for christmas if you were with me. frank finally got his xmas present delivered and im just sat here praying that i don’t regret the purchase. and the office (usa) s5, ep28 : 4.5 star episode.

oh and after 5 years, i tried a great british roast for the first time. we went to a local spot that a few people had recommended but everyone and their uncle had hyped this up for me that i’m afraid my first roast was a mere 6.5/10. let me explain, there was only 1 meat option which ended up overcooked, i don’t think i got any sauces for my meat, the look was underwhelming and im a fan of smaller crispy potatoes which they did not serve. i had to get some onion rings to compensate which raised some eyebrows. my highlight would have to be the veg and the gravy. but now that i’ve got a benchmark, im determined for it to only get better from here. i was also the only non (white) british person at the restaurant so that warranted some curious looks too which let’s be real, i love a bit of attention so can’t complain.

i think that’ll be it for now, i’ll see you on the next one,
