a slap back to reality

it’s been almost 2 weeks since we got back from prague & i think i celebrated blue monday for the first time in my life. it was definitely appropriate, i just don’t understand why it isn’t a bank holiday? it’s like the governments know how depressed we can get, want to acknowledge it by creating a national day for it and expecting us to still come into work – kinda rude imo.

here’s some very real moments from the last 2 weeks:

our airport experience was a record breaking high to my surprise. we usually take a minimum of 2h to get past immigration & out the doors but when i say heathrow was pin drop silent, i am not even exaggerating. we were out of the plane and in a cab home in 30 minutes – so that made me a little less moany 🙃

after a couple too many deliveroo’s & losing my pepe’s virginity (not sure what took 5 years, i call it sheer ignorance), we made the mature decision to go on a food shop and get our diet in order. the current staple on rotation are egg sandos – try replacing the cream cheese with an almond and chive paste, some good ol’ black pepper & buttery toasted bread, yum.

it’s been 12 days since we’ve been back and the suitcases are still in a state. i’ve got it scheduled in for next week, i promise.

on my ever long list of “make frank watch all the shows you’ve binged”, we’ve finally reached the vampire diaries. we got to the part where mcdreamy died in grey’s so i had to rebound onto something else asap.

after scrapping together anything that resembled a bag / wrapping paper, i’ve finally got some old clothes posted for vinted – the holidays aren’t paying for themselves.
