so that went by in the blink of an eye! we had the best time in amsterdam and will be back in spring. till then, here are some of my highlights and what we were up to during our short visit.
i must say, 13 year old, fault in our stars fan girl losh was thriving but i did quickly grow out of it, i promise.
we had to see amsterdam by the canals and through the eyes of a local, the boat tour was a 10/10!
we waited in line for an hour to try the ever so hyped egg sando’s and then we did it again the next day, they were that good.
unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to anne frank’s house because it was booked months in advance but we did visit the museum of the canals which was a really quick and interactive way of learning more about the birth of the city and all the man made canals.
my admission to this will either trigger or relieve any dutch person reading, but “holland” and “the netherlands” are not interchangeable! north holland and south holland are actually 2 out of the 12 provinces in the netherlands. better to know later than never.
after saying bye to my sister, frank and i spent much of our last day shopping, people watching and planning our next visit.
after a very very busy summer, probably my busiest yet – i’m so so excited for some consistency – colder weather, work, friends, dinner and repeat till we’re off again in december.
