we wrapped up work and made our way to heathrow yesterday for what was probably the shortest flight i’ve ever taken.
we had dinner at the terminal and i had to buy a mandatory book at the whsmith to read during the flight called the brain by michael o’shea.

something you probably don’t know about me is that my dream was to study neuroscience at the university of st andrew’s in scotland. unfortunately i didn’t get in so i applied to 5 different biology related courses (not neuroscience) with my other university choices. but since then i kind of spend my free time reading, watching and listening to podcasts about the brain out of curiosity.
today, frank slept in so deshna (my sister) and i decided to head to her university to get a look inside and then ikea. of course the university was closed and so was ikea. oh and it was also raining and i was wearing long jeans with flip flops! not fun at all. we finally got into ikea and did a massive haul of the place as you would.
after a short afternoon nap, we got a little glammed up for some shopping and a cute dinner in the city – linguini trattoria (jordaan), 10/10 food and atmosphere.

definitely in a food coma right now, so i’m off to snooze but we’ve got a couple more things planned for our next few days here so i’ll see you on the next one.
