blue skies again

continued from sand storm vs girl on holiday.

my last few days have been great but they were about to get better.

day 8 – bonifacio & porto vecchio

we set off at 9am and drove down south to the city of bonifacio.

  • on a clear day, which we were lucky to finally get, you can see the sardinian coast from bonifacio.
  • has some of the most beautiful cliffs on the island and crystal blue beaches.

it was about a 2.5h drive from home with a pit stop for a coffee. the corsicans have good coffee but are kind of mean. i asked for a latte on several occassions and was basically told that they would give me a capuccino instead because they were technically the same. i took the capuccino ofcourse but a latte has more milk and less foam, someone needs to tell them.

when we got there, it was so very windy but the sky was clearing up and all was right with the world again.

after visiting the citadel, walking the coast and climbing the streets, we had some delicious local plates at “le time” restaurant. there were some stunning beaches around the area so the plan was to beach hop till sunset. for those who are nosy, like i would be, here’s some of the beaches closer to bonifacio:

we spent the rest of the day between the pallombaggia and santa guila beaches of porto vecchio. probably by favorite day here. crepes, risotto and more goat cheese salads were involved along with a great tan.

here are some more beaches in the area for next time:

  • san ciprianu
  • pinarellu
  • favona
